About Us

Giving hope to the youth of northern Ghana to thrive in their own spaces

Why Do We Exist?

Because too many of our young people stand at the edge of impossible choices , torn between hope and survival, between home and the unknown, between life and the deadly path to the south. At MOKPIERA, we exist for one reason:

We believe every young person is gold ,valuable, powerful, full of potential ,but without the right support, even gold can remain buried. That is why we created The Golden Tree Model, a transformational journey that replaces fear with confidence, confusion with clarity, and hopelessness with real opportunity.

Through our simulation game, young people experience the reality behind unsafe migration. Through our Golden Fruit tours, they rediscover the beauty and opportunities within the Northern Region. And through our Golden Root trainings, they gain digital skills, entrepreneurship knowledge, and climate-friendly agriculture skills to build their own futures.

This is why MOKPIERA exists: to steady trembling dreams, to uncover the gold within every youth, and to guide them toward a life of dignity, purpose, and possibility , without risking their lives to get there.

Our Phiosophy

At MOKPIERA, we believe that the solution to unsafe migration lies not in charity, but in changing mindsets, building capacity, and unlocking homegrown potential . Our philosophy is rooted in the conviction that young people already possess the “gold” they seek elsewhere ,it simply needs to be revealed, refined, and rooted within their own communities.

The Golden Tree Approach

The Golden Tree Approach

Transforming Youth Unsafe Migration Dreams into Homegrown Innovation

Through experiential learning, practical skills, and cultural grounding, youth are guided to discover the "gold" within their communities.

The Golden Flower

Centered on a three-week Migration Reality Simulation, it brings “the gold in the south” under participants' eyes without leaving Wa.

They live in a “Mini-Accra,” completing tasks, earning coupon-based wages, and paying for rent, food, transport, and utilities. Sudden stressors mimic urban pressures, teaching reflection and informed choices.

The Golden Fruit

Focuses on northern exposure. Participants visit Wa’s most beautiful sites and interact with returned migrants sharing real-life stories.

Helps youth appreciate local opportunities, community treasures, and reframe perceptions of “glamorous” southern cities.

The Golden Root

Introduces ICT and agriculture. Participants gain skills in computer literacy, video editing, graphic design, website development, and social media marketing.

Modern farming techniques—hydroponics, irrigation, digital management—are taught alongside entrepreneurship, bookkeeping, and cultural grounding for sustainable livelihoods.

The Golden Leaves

Represents participants applying all skills learned. Beneficiaries showcase ICT and agriculture projects and receive ongoing mentorship.

This stage symbolizes blossoming potential and the start of a new journey with confidence, cultural pride, and practical skills.

When the Golden Tree is fully put into force, it transforms the young person’s life , strengthening their confidence, sharpening their skills, shaping their ideas, empowering their choices, and connecting them to real opportunities. This is the impact we call BADEC.

Our Core Values:

Innovation

Innovation is seeing possibility where others see limits. At MOKPIERA, we help young people turn ideas into reality ; whether through digital skills, smart farming, or creative problem-solving. Innovation is not just technology; it is curiosity, imagination, and the courage to build something new at home, creating opportunities that make life better for themselves and their communities.

Resilience

Resilience is the quiet strength that keeps you moving forward when life gets hard. Through hands-on experiences, mentorship, and practical training, our youth learn to face challenges without fear, adapt to change, and create solutions under pressure. It is the ability to stay, grow, and thrive in your own community, turning setbacks into stepping stones toward success.

Dignity

Dignity is knowing your worth and standing tall in your own story. At MOKPIERA, we nurture pride in culture, skills, and identity, showing young people that they can achieve, lead, and create impact without leaving home. It is the foundation of every decision they make , a reminder that their life, work, and dreams matter, and that home can be a place of opportunity and respect.

We reduce unsafe migration by empowering marginalized youth through transformational education, digital skills, and climate-friendly agriculture , guided by our Golden Tree approach.
